SC Aviation Records 67 Years of Safe Flight, Wins National Recognition

National Business Aviation Association presented award at Annual Convention and Exhibition

Janesville, WI – SC Aviation, a well-respected Flight Department and Charter Operator serving Chicago, Milwaukee, Minneapolis and Madison, WI, is honored to be recognized for 67 years of safe flight operations by the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA). SC Aviation joins an elite group of approximately 30 flight departments nationwide to have flown 60 or more years without an accident.

The award was presented by the Chairman of the NBAA Board of Directors, Richard Shine at the NBAA Business Aviation Convention and Exposition held in Las Vegas, NV on October 22nd, 2013. The NBAA Convention is the largest civil aviation trade show in the world.

“To say ‘We are excited’ would be an understatement,” said Ernie Grainger, President, SC Aviation. “We work tirelessly to ensure the safety of our passengers and crew and to be recognized by the NBAA in front of our peers is a true honor,” added Grainger.

The Swiss Colony purchased a two-passenger, single-engine Cessna 140 in 1946, and shortly thereafter, purchased a five-passenger Cessna 195. The flight department grew with the needs of the company and added its first jet – a Cessna Citation II – in 1986. In 1999, the company earned the certification to operate its own charter company and SC Aviation, Inc. was born. SC Aviation currently operates three Hawker 800XPs, a Hawker 700, a Lear 35 and a Lear 31A and carries the prestigious Wyvern Wingman industry safety rating.
